he's right. the best advice i was ever given was that girls are a numbers game, as in...the more you play the more you win. get...say...3 more numbers before you see her. that way if it works out you can say you met the girls before you went out and if it doesn't you can move straight on to number 2 and 3.
lesson 2: don't take advice from guys on the webz, we don't know what the fuck we're talking about. we post on friday nights when we should be out getting girls numbers.

My advise: If you're afraid of girls, start by asking out girls you know will say yes. When there's little to no risk it's easy to feel confident, plus if they do say no cause they have a boyfriend or something you won't feel let down and you won't take it personally. Then work your way up to hotter and hotter chicks till you're dating girls that are way "out of your league".
Also remember, there's no such thing as "out of your league".

In a relationship it's definitely important that you find the person you're with physically attractive, and obviously it's the first thing you notice when meeting someone. There are a lot more factors to consider than physical attractiveness though.
The standard of "hot" is kinda generic, and "hot" is a lousy reason to put up with someone's shit over the long term.
What is important is that YOU find her attractive. Fuck what your friends or anyone else thinks.

it's not so much about getting a lot of numbers, but getting the numbers that you actually want. i've never really had trouble pulling girls, but i was never into the random hookups etc, and i never really found anyone i wanted to date/be in a relationship with. so what i have found recently is that if you talk to everyone you never know who it's going to work out with, or who is going to be surprisingly awesome.

This is hilarious. You can try to game women with varying results. The most effective thing that I know of is to work on yourself. An improvement in one's self-esteem and self-confidence will work amazingly well. Once you get to the point where you feel good about yourself and you don't really want or need to meet someone, you'll find that you don't have to ask for numbers as you'll already be inundated with girls or guys for that matter.
Unfortunately, that's all easier said than done.

i had a (relatively) long relationship end on me a few months ago. after it ended i had girls around me that i could have started something with, but i was still too caught up with the girl that left me to want to do anything. when i actually took the time to make improvements in myself and figure out what i like/dislike/want/don't want (it's easy to lose sight of this during a relationship), i was a lot happier and actually made some meaningful relationships with people. it's impossible to be happy with anyone else - friend/girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever - if you aren't happy with yourself.
I was consistently in relationships between the ages of 17 and 25. My last one lasted 6 years. It was great. I like relationships and hate dating. Then we broke up. I've been on three dates in four years and made out with two girls. Mostly I can't find someone who is both mentally and physically attractive. And when I do they are already in a relationship. Now I'm 29 and the only thing I can think about is finding someone to marry before I become one of those 40 year old guys who has nothing to show for his life but some nice bikes and still hangs out with the mid-20's tarck scene.
My big problem is that every girls that I've dated has asked me out. For a while, whenever it ended with one, another would come along within a month. But when it comes to me taking the initiative, I just fall on my face.

ugh I just broke up with my girlfriend. My tube burst while going downhill and I took a nasty fall about 2 miles from home. I called her up cause we were supposed to be meeting and she was too much of a jerk to pick me up and take me to the hospital. Instead she drove home and I limped to the hospital to find out I had a broken shin. Hooray for bitchy girls.
