I have ridden one of these. They are nothing special. Low end steel, and pretty ugly. There's no way I would pay $300 for it, much less whatever absurd price it will attain.

Yeah. I was in the market for a mountain bike anyway, and have too much going on (moving, namely) to invest an additional $800+ in a bike that I just have to turn around and sell (albeit for a profit).
