PCW Messenger Knicker

I love 3/4 length pants for riding around town and general use, so when I saw these for fifty bucks, based on the superb quality of my PCW wool jersey, I decided to take the plunge.
When I took them out of the shipping bag I was immediately impressed with the light, stretchy fabric and rather surprised to discover that the shorts are actually lined with a chamois of sorts.
Giddy as a schoolgirl, I ran to the bathroom at work, put em on and hopped on my bike to go to some buildings.
As soon as my ass hit the saddle, I realized that the chamois was a complete piece of shit. The liner is made of loose mesh and the the pad moves around like crazy. It never sits where you want it, is extremely front-heavy and generally feels like wearing a giant maxi-pad.
As soon as I got back to the office, I scampered back to the bathroom, this time with a pair of scissors and cut that fuckin' liner right out.
With the removal of the liner, these shorts become amazing.
The fabric is light and airy and moves with your body.
It is smooth and doesn't bunch up around the powalegz while you're riding due to the slightly relaxed cut.
The ass pockets feature a nice little bit of reflective piping and one has a zipper to keep your wallet secure and the other fits a small u-lock if that's your thing.
For the money, these shorts kick ass once you remove the stupidass liner.
I give them an A but not an A+ because of the hassle of removing the stupidass liner.

from your experience, do these run big, small, about normal?
are they low rise or natural waisted?
sex appeal? lots, so-so, poor?
can we get a full body or action shot? shirt, optional. sexy, mandatory.
what are you, some kind of bike riding faggot? - Pirate
They run normal.
The 34 fits me like a 34 should.
The rise is just slightly low.
I would say that the sex appeal is medium to high. They are a slightly more relaxed fit than my Swrve knicks which are nice and snug to spotlight my spectacular ass. The sex appeal of those is off the friggan charts.
I'll work on getting that pic for ya Fez.

I love my Swrve knickers, the cut is like the American Apparel of knickers (that's good for me). But they're almost too snug. I'm on the scrawny side and like form fitting apparel too, so that's saying something.
I do like to think I've got muscular thighs and calves though.
I own these PCW/OCW knickers and have been wearing them for almost a year now. Rusty totally nailed it: great knicks but the liner that comes with them is a complete waste of time. Cut it out and you have a great piece of clothing.
I found they ran a little big relative to the clothing I normally wear (Levi jeans & similar). Normally I am a 38 waist (I'm really a 36/37 but I like a little breathing room - I'm not a girl jean type of guy). I ordered the XXL initially but they were huge. I exchanged them for XL which is allegedly size 36 waist and they are great. Still just a little loose but not bad at all. For reference, I wear a size 36 waist Sprinter cut in Swrve knicks and those fit me nearly perfectly.
I'm seriously considering purchasing another pair since they are on sale. Mine have seen very regular use and they are still like new.

Is there any padding besides the chamois on the liner? Is the seat reinforced at all?
No padding besides the chamois. The seat is not reinforced the same way the Swrve knickers are, but so far, so good. I wear them probably 1-2x per week for the past year, no worries so far. YMMV.

what does one wear under something like this or the swrve shorts? nothing?

i think that chamois is an invitation to commando
but everyday wear is a stern reminder to not be a flagrant hippy
i bought two pair of these last year. the first pair is worn out and fits like a 32 when i bought a 30. but they lasted a year of almost daily use in warm weather and are still in good shape, haven't even wore the second pair yet.
