Masi Speciale CX
Yeah I know the TAF univega didn't happen, but I still have the frame so not all hope is lost. But on to the masi. First off, it has really classy looking paint. The 'root beer' is so much better looking in person that it is online, not that it's ugly online. The white is more of an off white. The colors flow together really well and over all it's a very nice looking bike. only major things i'd change are to some silver cranks, gum hudz, and white tape. the latter two will be done soon-ish. The tiagra hoods/fd and 105 rd work well enough for me. the 9 speed is a step up from my shitty lemond I had before with 8 speed sora. I'm digging the hoods for now. I get on the top of the hoods for an aero-ish position, but sram is in the long term plan.
I only have one long ride to report. It was a 2 day 112 mile out and back bike tour. It wasn't self supported so I only carried a small bag to do on the road repairs for the shop and to carry some of my stuff. When i was just riding I didn't notice the bag on the back. Only noticed it when i got out of the seat. The bike was really stable and i was comfortable the whole ride. I got a lot of compliments about the bike and half the people thought that it was italian made, I wasn't about to disagree with them.
Haven't had any offroad time with it but i'll be doing some cx w/ it so i'll report on how that goes. I'd give it a 5/5. only complaint was the weight (26 lbs) at first but i htfu'd and got over it.
