That thing looks great, but good fucking luck getting shit from Lane at Cetma. The Bike Coop in Santa Cruz is (was, I guess) a Cetma dealer and earlier this year we tried to order like 10 racks for a few of the employees, a few customers and a few to stock. Motherfucker didn't even reply to our emails, answer his phone or reply to our voicemail, ever. Finally, almost six weeks after we had originally placed the order, one of our customers emailed him directly and he responded (to the customer, not to us) that we weren't a dealer anymore and he would have to buy through him. Customer ordered through him, didn't get a response for weeks, eventually said fuck it. Lane still has not communicated with us at all and we would still think we were a dealer if the customer hadn't come and reported back after talking to him.
Lane makes good racks and every time I've spoken to him he's seemed like a really nice guy, but goddamn does he suck at running a business.
Yeah. Might be just as well off having a machine shop cook something up.

Insider word on Lane at CETMA: he's a cool guy but he FAR prefers dealing locally. Eugene people can get all his slightly 'oops' stuff for real cheap and fast, whereas people on the interwebz are left in the cold for 6 months. So yeah, unless you're driving through Oregon, shop elsewhere.
That Nitto bar extension seems alright though the order will come to a crazy $50 or so with shipping. Then there's a lathe at the film lab (someone once prophecized to me that you'd need a lathe in your basement to keep on using film), though the only guy who can work on it is tough to get time from.
How easy is it to thread something? I just need a damned cylinder of aluminum with threading.

Finally got to hit some trails on the Scandal. It has amazingly quick and awesome handling for a 29er. Far better than my Specialized. Was gonna get a black stem and post but I think I'll stick with silver(Thomson bits to come).
Rusty... that bike... very nice but risers on 29ers are just gorss.

would white cross levers look gorss on my bike? It's not a "vintage" bike by any means but still, they're newer tech and I don't want to ruin the look of the bike.
perfectly fine atmo.
Most female bikes seem to come with them. At least the sub $1k ones I was looking at for a friend.
Talking the GT, right? 1/2 the people think it's gorss* anyways, so fuck it. Do what you want. Besides, switching up positions often is a great way to keep it exciting.

Was about to post about the appropriate-ness of the 1664 french beer on the french styled bike, then I realized that Bexley is in France, and it didn't seem as deliberate anymore.
Yeah I know. I was originally going to have silver deep Vs which is why I got it. And I did originally buy a black Cinelli seatpost to replace it but it's a Thomson, and I love it too much to get rid of it. Now I kind of like the way it's out of place. Gives the bike some focus. If I find a black Thomson for a good deal I'll replace it. :) Ideally, my bike should have a black Thomson and a white Arione. But white saddles get dirtay.
saddle does seem a tad far forward, but nothing major.
it's the best looking t1 i think i've seen.
ugh...remember the stizzle?

What bars should I get? I felt that I had a bit too much rise. I was just gonna flip the stem.
I would suggest any of the many choices in a 10-15 degree bend flat bar. Very comfy.

Agreed... nothing say poor-fit like a 0 setback post on a 75 degree seat tube. Go on ebay and get one of those $35 Selcof posts with the micro-adjust. You bike will be 67.4% better.

What is good deal pricing? I have a black 27.2 I don't need.
Oh yea, that thing and most equivalents including the Paul product are too narrow to accommodate the rubber band that mounts the Dinotte.
Maybe this? The light mounting eyelet on the M12 is unthreaded, right?

Nah, it's threaded, but M6. Thanks. I may get that thing.
Time to head out now with the light on the left drop.

whats the fender clearance like with that cat?
Yea, I cut off the end of my broomstick to solve this for now. Gonna try to find a machine shop in the neighborhood.
Yes, Yes...
The threaded inserts came in a few weeks ago. I have all the tools lined up, sitting next to the handscrew I'l make them on. ....
I've been way too busy with the paying work. This week should work.....I'll post pics..
Bex, how long do you need it? Where are you mounting it? Links to relevant posts?
Awesome. Tarckparts!
5cm should be plenty. I'm mounting it to the eyelet on my Nitto M12 rack, which has M6 threading. Doing them as unfinished aluminum bits?
I just checked and my wheel casts a shadow with this light mounted to the side of the rack, but meh.
I'll be making down low mounts like the VO ones with some improvements.
For a fork eyelet mount , for simplicity I'm thinking make a aluminum tube and use a stainless socket head cap screw to mount.
'll have it done Monday or Tuesday.
You're the best! I totally forgot about these.
oops open quick release

Nice!
